Uniondale Nassau

Uniondale is a census-designated place (CDP), as well as a suburb in Nassau County, New York, United States, on Long Island, in the Town of Hempstead. The village has a total area of 2.7 square miles. It borders Carle Place, Westbury, Salisbury, East Meadow, North Merrick, Roosevelt, South Hempstead, Hempstead, Garden City, and Mineola.

Uniondale’s main thoroughfare is the Hempstead Bethpage Turnpike, this east-west artery bisects the community. Southern Start Parkway borders the neighborhood on the south, and Meadowbrook State Parkway on the east, which heads towards the northwest after crossing Steward Avenue. Uniondale Avenue is the main artery that runs north-south and runs through the rest of the main roads namely Hempstead Bethpage Turnpike, Front Street, Jerusalem Avenue and Nassau Road. The interchange of Souther State Parkway with Meadowbrook State Parkway occupies the area on the southeast corner of the border. Uniondale can be accessed via Meadowbrook State Parkway.

Uniondale is home to Hofstra University’s north campus and Nassau Community College. It is also home to museums and many attractions namely Long Island Children’s Museum, Nassau County Firefighters Museum and Education Center, Nunley’s Carousel, Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, and David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex. Sports complex and fields such as James M. Shuart Stadium, Hofstra Indoor Practice Facility, Mitchel Field, and Globall Sports Centers – Nassau. Other education buildings include Kellenberg Memorial High School, Uniondale Senior High School, Turtle Hook Middle School, Northern Parkway School, and St. Martin de Porres Marianist School.
