Nesconset is a hamlet and census-designated place in the town of Smithtown, located in Suffolk County, Long Island, New York, USA. It has a total land area of 3.8 square miles (9.8 km2). It is bordered by St. James to the north, Lake Grove to the east, Lake Ronkonkoma to the south, and Village of the Branch to the west.

Middle Country Road (New York State Route 25) serves as one of the main roads and forms a natural boundary to the north. Smithtown Bypass or Nesconset-Port Jefferson Highway from the west intersects with Lake Avenue, Gibbs Pond Road, Browns Road and Middle Country Road as it heads towards the north. Nichols Road forms a natural border to the southeast which stretches for about 2 miles.

Nesconset is home to The Sports Arena, a popular sports complex at 620 Middle Country Road. Businesses along the commercial strip on Middle Country Road include Dairy Queen Grill & Chill, Villa Olivetti, Smith Haven Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Company, and Ragazzi, from west to east respectively. Parks and green spaces within the hamlet are Sprofera/Brown’s Road Park at the fork of Browns Road and Nesconset-Port Jefferson Highway; to the southwest along Smithtown Boulevard is Smithtown Nesconset Dog Park; to the east is where Andreoli Park lies where Gibbs Pond sits.

Places of education serving the Nesconset are Great Hollow Middle School, Tackan Elementary School, Lexine Bondoc School, and Kiddie Academy of Nesconset. The Smithtown Library – Nesconset Building is located is next to Nesconset Playground on Smithtown Boulevard.
