Farmingdale is an incorporated village on Long Island within the Town of Oyster Bay in Nassau County, New York, United States. The village has a total area of 1.1 square miles (2.8 km2), all covered by land.

The Lenox Hills neighborhood is adjacent to Bethpage State Park and the rest of the town is within a fifteen-minute drive of the park. It is also approximately 37 mi (59 km) southeast of Midtown Manhattan and can be reached via the Ronkonkoma Branch of the LIRR. The Long Island Expressway and Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway is the best way to reach Farmingdale from the city and the mainland.

Major thoroughfares in the village are Conklin Street, Main Street, Fulton Street, Clinton Street, and Melville Road. Road Swamp Road from Old Bethpage splits into Quaker Meeting House Road to the west and Bethpage Road to the west respectively. Bethpage Road then turns into Powell Place soon as it passes Northside Elementary School then full stops turning south exiting to Melville Road. Melville Road runs diagonally traversing southwest-northeast intersecting with Main Street and turns into Clinton Street as it merges with Conklin Street to the center of the community. Fulton Street runs near the southern border from Conklin Street heading toward the southeast exiting Broadhollow Road in East Farmingdale.

Farmingdale is served by Republic Airport, a major general aviation reliever to the east of New York City; NICE routes n70, n71 and n72; and the Long Island Rail Road’s Farmingdale station. Major roads are New York State routes 24 (Conklin Street), 109 (Fulton Street), 110 (Broad Hollow Road), Southern State Parkway, Bethpage State Parkway, and 27 (NY 27). The village is the site of a transit-oriented development centered around the LIRR station.

Parks within the village include Lt Christopher Sullivan Park on Scholl Drive, Ellsworth W. Allen Park on Motor Avenue, Henley-Chapin Park, Emil Gerngras Park on Staples Street. Farmingdale Public Library is on Merritts Road and Weldon E. Howitt Middle School is on Vancott Avenue. Nearby on Main Street are the houses of worship namely St Kilian Parish, Farmingdale United Methodist Church, St Thomas Episcopal Church, Farmingdale Christian Church. Popular food establishments within the village are Croxley’s Ale House, Alibi Speakeasy & Lounge, Dark Horse Tavern, Farmingdale Brew co, and CaraCara, all of which are on Main Street.
