East Meadow is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the Town of Hempstead in Nassau County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. Many residents commute to Manhattan, which is 30 miles (48 km) away.

The hamlet is bordered by the adjacent hamlets of Carlplace, Westbury, and Salisbury to the north, North Merrick and North Bellmore to the south, Hempstead to the west, Uniondale to the southwest, and Levittown to the east.

The Meadowbrook State Parkway is a 12.52-mile parkway in Nassau County that passes through East Meadow and defines the west border. On the east border is the Wantagh State Parkway, which intersects to the north with Newbridge Road that runs diagonally going southwest-northeast. Hempstead Bethpage Turnpike is about a 2-mile stretch of the commercial strip between Meadowbrook State Parkway and Wantagh State Parkway.

Eisenhower Park can be accessed by taking Hempstead Bethpage Turnpike then Park Boulevard. Other landmarks in the same area include Eisenhower Golf Short Game Practice Area, Eisenhower park playground, Veterans Memorial, The Carltun and Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre. Other landmarks spread within the hamlet are East Meadow water tower, Nassau County Jail, East Meadow Public Library, Mitchel Manor military housing complex, Senator Speno Memorial Park, and Prospect Park both on E Meadow Ave.

Nassau University Medical Center is located at 2201 Hempstead Turnpike and serves East Meadow the adjacent hamlets. Taking Carman Avenue west from Nassau University Medical Center in the East Meadow High School. Other schools include George McVey Elementary School, Barnum Woods Elementary School, Woodland Middle School, and Merrick Woods Country Day School.
