Amityville is a village in the Town of Babylon in Suffolk County, on the South Shore of Long Island, in New York, United States. The Village of Amityville is bordered to the west by East Massapequa (in Nassau County), to the north by North Amityville, to the east and south by Copiague, and to the south by the Great South Bay. The village has a total area of 2.5 square miles (6.5 km2), of which, 2.1 square miles (5.4 km2) of it is land and 0.4 square miles (1.0 km2) of it is water. The total area is 15.38% water.

Major roads serving the community are Sunrise Highway and Broadway interchanging within the northwest portion of the border. Broadway continues south intersecting with W Oak Street and ends with Merrick Road. County Line Road runs parallel with Broadway covering north-to-south defining the western border. W Oak Street turns into Oak Street after passing Broadway.

Amityville is home to William T. Lauder Museum on Broadway. Amityville Village Fire Chief and Amityville Public Library are only two blocks apart on W Oak Street. Peterkin Park is east of Oak Street. Amityville Creek flows in Peterkin Park from Avon Lake. Another Park is south of Bayview Avenue turning left from Oak Street namely Pearsall Park. Nautical Park is on Merrick Road right by Avon Lake. Also on Merrick Road, nearby Avon Lake is the Amityville Memorial High School serving the community. The Triangle – The fork of Broadway and Park Avenue, along with Ireland Place create a triangular plot of land at the center of the village.

Amityville is served by the Babylon Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. The station is a hub for buses in the area.
