Rocky Point is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Brookhaven, New York, United States. As of the 2010 United States census, the CDP population was 14,014. == History == Rocky Point is home to the site where American radio company RCA once operated a large transmitting and transmitter research facility, known as Radio Central. RCA began to transmit transatlantic radio messages from Radio Central after its opening on November 5, 1921.On January 7, 1927, AT&T initiated the first transatlantic commercial telephone service, linking London and New York. AT&T's transmitter was at Radio Central, and their receiver was in Houlton, Maine. The radiotelephone signal from Radio Central was received by the British General Post Office’s receiver facility in Cupar, Scotland. The 5,200-acre (21 km2) Rocky Point site was decommissioned in 1978 and demolished in the 1980s. It now consists of many concrete ruins and downed telephone poles and radio towers, owned by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. It is part of the Rocky Point Natural Resources Management Area, which is in the Long Island Central Pine Barrens. The site gives an interesting insight into the 1920s, because—being in the middle of the forest—the footprints of the site remain largely untouched since its operational period.
After resetting our breaker box, we lost power in our bathroom and master bedroom. They were really a great company to deal with. They guided us through everything that might go wrong, educated us on how the power in the house worked, and, most importantly, corrected it immediately. There were no gimmicks or up-selling tactics. Team was courteous and prompt in explaining the entire process of replacing my electrical panel, which had been running very hot and would have become a fire hazard if not replaced. The Two Brothers Electrical of Rocky Point crew gave me a great deal on the panel and promptly repaired it. I wholeheartedly recommend this service for any electrical needs.
The wiring to our heat pump developed an electrical fault. Despite the fact that it was one of the coldest day of the year when we called, they came immediately out. We thought they wouldn't have availability as everyone would be calling but they were able to. They found the problem, and were back an hour later to correct the wiring to patch us up. If you need a good electrician in Rocky Point then this company is the one you want to be calling.
My electricity went out totally in July, and with the high heat and three children, we were in desperate need of assistance. When I contacted Two Brothers Electrical of Rocky Point, they dispatched someone right away. Despite the fact that they were totally packed with appointments, they managed to get me in and had fixed my problem within a day. They were quick, effective, and pleasant, and they answered all of my inquiries. They were also very diligent and efficient. It is a company I would strongly suggest to anybody.
