Valley Stream Nassau

Valley Stream is a village in Nassau County, New York, United States. Located along the border with Queens, the incorporated Village of Valley Stream is part of the Town of Hempstead, New York. Communities bordering Valley Stream are Elmont (home of Belmont Park racetrack), Lynbrook, Malverne, Franklin Square, Hewlett, Woodmere, and Rosedale. The village has a total area of 3.5 square miles, of which 3.4 square miles is land and 0.04 square miles is water.

W Merrick Road and Sunrise Highway serve as the main streets both traversing the west-east direction, however, W Merrick Road is connected to more sub streets which lead to the residential areas namely N Central Avenue, Fletcher Avenue, Rockaway Parkway, Emerson PI, and Cornwell Avenue. N Central Avenue traverses the north-south direction and turns into Mill Road going south after passing Sunrise Highway. Meanwhile, Rockaway Parkway also traverses through north-south direction and intersects with both W Merrick Road and Sunrise Highway, however it changes direction towards the southeast as it passes Sunrise Highway.

Valley Stream State Park is a 97-acre state park located at Valley Stream State Park Road between Henry Street and Corona Avenue. Valley Stream flows through the park. Just a corner south, taking Henry Street then left to Hendrickson Avenue is the Valley Stream Historical Society. Another nearby attraction is the Arthur J. Hendrickson Park located along Fletcher Avenue by the Valley Stream Pond. At the end of the pond is the Arthur J. Hendrickson Pool. Valley Stream Central High School also sits by the Valley Stream Pond. Mill Pond is at Jamaica Bay on the south side of the Sunrise Highway while right on the north side is another park namely Village Green Park.

Valley Stream (Village); North Valley Stream; North Woodmere; South Valley Stream; Gibson; Mill Brook (formerly Green Acres); Winslow Estates; and Westwood.

The village is served by the Long Island Rail Road at the Valley Stream, Gibson, and Westwood stations.
