Lakeview is a hamlet and census-designated place in the Town of Hempstead in Nassau County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. Lakeview’s name reflects upon its proximity to Hempstead Lake at Hempstead Lake State Park. It has a total area of 1.2 square miles, of which 1.0 square miles is land and 0.2 square miles or 17.95% is water.

Southern State Parkway forms a natural boundary to the north, Hempstead Lake to the east till southeast, and Ocean Avenue to the west and southwest.

Woodfield Road passes through the middle of the hamlet traversing the north-south direction and ends with Lakeview Avenue to the south. Lake Drive and N Village Avenue or Peninsula Boulevard sandwich the Hempstead Lake. Further south lies the South Pond.

Hempstead Lake State Park sits by Hempstead Lake at the northeastern part of the border. Several other parks and fields surround the lake such as Darcy Field, RVC Athletic Complex, Bralower Field, Park Plaza, and Snail Plaza. Hempstead Lake Boat launch is on the west side of the lake. Tanglewood Preserve is at the southern edge of Lakeview barely within the border and is technically part of Rockville Centre, which is an adjacent hamlet of Lakeview to the southwest. Meanwhile, Harold Walker Memorial Park on 1085 Woodfield Rd is just a tad distance away from the lake, right across would be the Lakeview Public Library, both of which are on the commercial thoroughfare of Lakeview. Lakeview Fire Department is also just north of Woodfield Road.
