Fort Salonga is a hamlet in Suffolk County, New York, on Long Island’s North Shore. Fort Salonga was named after one of the forts located near the border of the towns of Huntington and Smithtown, overlooking Long Island Sound.

Fort Salonga is a community at the northeast corner of the town of Huntington and at the northwest boundary of the town of Smithtown. It is considered the easternmost “town” of the historic Gold Coast of Long Island, with the Geissler Estate located within the hamlet. It is bordered by the Long Island Sound to the north, Kings Park to the east, East Northport to the southwest and Northport to the west.

Sunken Meadow State Parkway forms a natural border to the east and and intersects with Fort Salonga Road halfway, it runs south to north and ends in Sunken Meadow State Park. The NY-25A & Fort Salonga Road serves as the main road and runs in the middle of the hamlet covering the southwest and east point of the border.

It is teeming with beaches, preserves, parks and golf courses and located around these areas are Sunken Meadow Golf Course as part of the Sunken Meadow State Park, Alfred E. Smith Golf Course, Indian Hills Country Club just 500 meters away from Fort Salonga Road. Heading back south from Indian Hills Country Club then west of Fort Salonga Road is the Makamah Nature Preserve, and just a kilometer away up north is the Davis Brickmaker Preserve. Crab Meadow Golf Course and Jerome A. Ambro Memorial Wetland Preserve shares the same area as well.

Just outside the border of the hamlet is the Northport VA Medical Center which serves East Northport as well.
