East Northport Suffolk

East Northport is a hamlet and census-designated place in the town of Huntington in Suffolk County, New York, United States. It is bordered by Northport to the north, Commack to the south, Greenlawn to the west, and Fort Salonga to the east. It has a total land area of 5.2 square miles.

It is bordered by Northport to the north, Fort Salonga to the east, Commack to the south, Elwood to the southwest, Greenlawn to the west, and Centerport to the northwest.

The NY-25A & Fort Salonga Rd passes briefly on the north boundary of the hamlet for a distance of 2 kilometers, it splits into Middleville Rd which continues towards east and is the primary road to Northport Golf Course and Northport VA Medical Center. The Larkfield Rd and Elwood Rd serve as the main roads traversing north to south points of the hamlet, vice versa, and both roads cross with Pulaski Rd which runs throughout the west and east points of the hamlet.

The Northport Train station sits right in the middle of the hamlet at Larkfield Rd & Bellerose Ave. Continuing east to Bellerose Ave are clumps of parks such as Veterans Park, Veterans Park Skate Park, Veteran’s Nature Study Area, Knolls Park which surrounds the Bellerose Avenue Elementary; heading a few blocks south is the East Northport Public Library which serves as the main library for the local residents. Serving the students to the west is the Northport Highschool. Further south of Larkfield Rd is the United States Postal Service and food establishments situated next to each other namely Wendy’s, Las Palmas Deli, East Northport Bagel Cafe, Brownstones Coffee, and Sawadee Thai Infusion.

Students residing in East Northport attend the Northport-East Northport Union Free School District. East Northport USPS serves both parts of Commack and Elwood, leading some individuals to erroneously believe they are East Northport residents. Commack residents with East Northport postal addresses attend Commack School District and Elwood residents with East Northport postal addresses attend Elwood School District. A few students also attend the Half Hollow Hills Central School District.
