Bayport is a hamlet and census-designated place in the Town of Islip, Suffolk County, New York, on Long Island. Bayport is located in the southeast part of Islip. The total area of the hamlet is 3.8 square miles (9.8 km2), 3.7 square miles (9.6 km2) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.3 km2) is covered by water.

The community borders the Great South Bay, Sayville, Holbrook, and the hamlet of Blue Point. In the northern border lies the Nicolls Road and Sunrise Highway interchange which Sunrise Highway forms a natural boundary. Traversing Nicolls Road towards the south for about 1.47 mi (2.37 km) is the Montauk Highway. The Montauk Highway passes through the middle point of the hamlet where the downtown area is situated covering north-south directions.

Bayport Aerodrome is located in Bayport (nearby James Wilson Young Middle School). Other landmarks include Bayport Commons Park on 7 Monica Ct, Bayport Memorial Park on 11 Paulanna Ave, Bayport Beach on 255 Paulanna Avenue and Roosevelt Estate County Park.

Fire protection in Bayport is provided by the Bayport Fire Department, a volunteer department located at 251 Snedecor Avenue on the corner of Railroad Avenue. EMS/Ambulance Service is provided by the Community Volunteer Ambulance Co. located in Sayville, which in addition to Sayville and Bayport covers the West Sayville, Bohemia and Oakdale communities Bayport is served by the Bayport-Blue Point School District, which consists of a high school (Bayport-Blue Point High School), a middle school (James Wilson Young Middle School), and three elementary schools, Academy Street Elementary, Sylvan Avenue Elementary, and Blue Point Elementary. Bayport is served by the Bayport-Blue Point Public Library. Bayport is home to one of only a few remaining aerodromes on Long Island namely Bayport Aerodome at 600 3rd Ave.
