Huntington Crescent Club

Huntington Crescent Club’s rich history and fine tradition have made it one of the most prestigious clubs in Huntington Bay on Long Island. The prestige of this club is shown in the prestige of its members. Many influential businessmen, artists and sports figures are members, including many who live on Long Island. The list includes names such as Donald Trump, Steven Tyler (from the band Aerosmith), David Wright (from the New York Mets), Billie Jean King, Paul McCartney and Tony Bennett.

This prestige has also given Huntington Crescent Club a history that cannot be matched by many clubs today in and around Huntington Bay. One example of this is when Franklin D. Roosevelt played tennis there with William Howard Taft in 1910 while Taft was President to show that he would like his chances for the presidency if Taft did not run again in 1912; he did run again and won! Another instance that shows how prestigious this club is that it has been ranked as one of the top ten clubs in America by Golf Magazine and Inside Golf (and ranked number 1 for most history).

Huntington Crescent’s 18 holes pristine golf course is spread over 175 acres of lush greenery. The Devereux Emmet designed course is an exciting challenge to all levels of golfers. Recently, the club hosted a golf invitational that featured golf greats Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson as speakers. At the event, golfers competed for a chance to win a trip with their golf ball from tee-to-green. The prize included two golf outings with the winning golfer’s favorite pro athlete, including Nicklaus or Watson as well as PGA or Champions Tour professionals. All proceeds from ticket sales went towards scholarships for both high school seniors to college students pursuing teaching degrees.
